KeyRing Members, volunteers and staff and their communities have been raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday 28th September KeyRing teamed up with the staff and volunteers from the Crossley Community Centre to hold a Macmillan Fundraiser in aid of their 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning'.
In the lead up to it we contacted local businesses to gather donations for a raffle and we got some great prizes for people to win.
We posted flyers through doors, put them up locally and informed people via email and social media including local councillors, PCSOs and housing officers.
We had cakes donated and did lots of baking which included a 6.5lb fruit cake. Donations were made so people could guess the weight and the person closest to the actual weight won the whole cake!
We also baked a unicorn cake and donations were made to guess its name, again the winner won the whole cake!
We opened at noon and the community centre was full of people until it ended at 5pm. We raised £447.66 for Macmillan and everyone had a great time.
Thanks to all the staff and volunteers from both KeyRing and Crossley who made the day possible.
