Jo Land – Chair
Jo is currently Treasurer and Trustee of the Charities’ HR Network and a Trustee of Avenues Group, where she is also Deputy CEO.
Jo’s skills include HR, Organisation Development, Strategic Business Development including mergers and acquisitions, Employment Law, Learning and Development, Quality Assurance and Monitoring, Practice Leadership and Development, Operational Service Delivery in social care, personal customer experience of the social care system, strategic networking and partnership building.
She is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD since 2011. She has a post graduate diploma in Employment Law, and is also a certified management consultant, and is trained as a professional coach.
Karyn Kirkpatrick – CEO and Company Secretary
Karyn has been the CEO of KeyRing for 11 years. Her work involves working with the Chair to ensure that the Board of Trustees formulates and regularly review KeyRing’s strategies and subsidiary plans; ensuring the Board is able to monitor annual development, plans and targets; being responsible for staff leadership, management and administration of KeyRing in the execution of the Board of Trustee’s policies; working with the Chair to ensure that the Board receives appropriate advice and information on all relevant matters and enabling it to fulfill its governance responsibilities; enabling Network Members to play the fullest part in the development of KeyRing.
Chris qualified as a social worker in 1977 and worked initially as a generic social worker, later specialising in mental health. He moved to Bradford in 1992, to manage mental health services and other specialist services for Bradford Council. He developed a special interest in services for minority ethnic communities and won national awards for developmental projects in this area.
During his time in Bradford Chris worked as Assistant Director for mental health and learning disability services. He transferred to the NHS in 2002 as Executive Director for mental health at Bradford District Care Trust
In 2007 he was appointed as Assistant Director for mental health and learning disability for the London Borough of Wandsworth. This role included responsibility for the council's directly provided services, but the primary responsibility was for commissioning services, negotiating new contracts with the independent sector and managing and monitoring the legal agreement with the local NHS provider of mental health services.
In 2009 Chris became self employed and as a senior interim manager in local authority social care held a number of posts in local authorities in the Midlands, London and the north of England, including roles in mental health, learning disability and services for older adults.
Chris has an honours degree from Durham University, is a qualified social worker and has Diploma in Management Studies.
Lindsey has provided financial leadership in the planning and implementation of Supporting People in a London borough. This included developing new services to better meet local needs, maximising the council’s Supporting People grant, overseeing the IT strategy, developing the charging policy, and re-working contracts to enable services to operate more flexibly, chairing the provider forum, and ensuring value for money in service provision.
She has also taken the lead on risk management (including risk of fraud and corruption) in housing and social care. She has been a charity trustee for the past 12 years.
Cassia is a Social Media Strategist with 8 years of experience in digital marketing in Brazil, Spain and the UK. She's truly passionate about understanding today's consumer behaviours and working together with brands to create new ways to meaningfully connect them to who really matters on the social landscape.
She currently works as Head of Strategy for Carve Consulting - an award winning Social Media agency in London. She will be using this experience to help shape KeyRing’s social media strategy.
Bella has been a KeyRing Member since 2001. She has been active in Member Involvement activities and supports the other Members in her network. She is also a member of the People First management committee and has worked as a Travel Buddy. She is interested in outreach.
Roberto has 25 plus years’ experience of running international sales, marketing and business development operations for not-for-profit and commercial organisations in the fields of conferences, exhibitions, training, publishing, information services and membership.
Before establishing the Reditus Partnership and BCM Events Roberto was VP Sales, Marketing and Business Development for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
After graduating, Roberto worked in public affairs for the World Coal Institute before joining The Financial Times where he became Global Publishing Director for Financial Times Energy. Before joining SPE Roberto ran the global commercial functions of Reuters Professional Publishing at Thomson Reuters.
Andy is Head of Business Development at Prospectus, a recruitment business working solely in the beyond profit sector. With 7 years experience in the sector, he works across Prospectus on business development, operational projects, marketing and maintaining and developing client relationships. Andy also heads up the Talent Attraction team at Prospectus covering media, advertising and design projects.
Rachael is currently the Operations Director for England for Care Management Group and has been there since 2015. She has over 30 years experience in social care working mainly with people with learning disabilities. She began her career as a support worker working her way up to being a registered manager where she helped resettle people with learning disabilities from long stay hospitals into the community. Rachael also worked for Birmingham People First for 2 years as project co-ordinator.
She more recently worked for the Care Quality Commission (the regulator of adult social care and health services) for 13 years in a range of roles including inspector, user involvement manager, and head of adult social care policy. Rachael is a qualified social worker and is passionate about high quality care, equality and people’s rights.
Brian is a qualified and registered social worker, manager and leader with significant experience in a breadth of social care roles. He is a champion of ordinary living, dignity, personalisation and building community capacity, with a strong track record in leadership, delivering outcomes for people, organisational performance and the transformation of adult social care.
Over the last decade Brian has been at the forefront of adult social care transformation – leading the implementation of self-directed support in Northamptonshire, supporting the development of personalisation at the London Borough of Southwark and taking Derby City to the forefront of personalisation, both regionally and nationally.
Until his retirement from the role of service director in Derby in January 2017 Brian was the ADASS East Midlands regional lead for learning disability (including Transforming Care) and previously represented the region at the ADASS Continuing Healthcare National Reference Group. He is a founding member of the national Local Area Coordination Network. During 2016 Brian delivered the next phase of Derby’s adult social care transformation through community led support in collaboration with the NDTi.
Brian has written and contributed to a number of publications and has presented at many conferences about: service quality in the personal social services, the use of assistive technology to support people with dementia and their carers, personalisation and building community capacity/prevention.
