Rotherham Networks

Rotherham is a town in South Yorkshire, England, which together with its outlying settlements to the north, south and south-east forms the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, with a recorded population of 257,280 in the 2011 census. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, its central area is on the banks of the River Don below its confluence with the Rother on the traditional road between Sheffield and Doncaster. Rotherham was well known as a coal mining town as well as a major contributor to the steel industry. Traditional industries included Glass Making and Flour Milling. It’s also the home of Rotherham United Football Club who play their home games at the recently built New York Stadium.

KeyRing have 3 Networks in Rotherham: Thrybergh, Kimberworth Park and Thurcroft.

About 20 years ago the now current Head Of Service in Rotherham invited KeyRing founder Carl Poll to talk to Yorkshire Councils about KeyRing. From those early talks the Kimberworth Park and Honeywell Networks were born and became the first KeyRing networks to be set up outside of London.

We also have a weekly Hub every Friday when we meet up with Speak Up Members at their Galax Premises on Fitzwilliam Road. We share information, hold cook and eat sessions and talk about current issues. We also invite people to speak on topics such as fire safety, housing and community police

Also keep an eye out for a brand new Learning Hub starting at the Unity Centre from August 2019. It’s in association with the Nayi Zindagi group and the courses will be provided and run by WEA Adult Learning.
