Flintshire Community Support Initiative

KeyRing support people in Flintshire to build their independence and connect with their community.

We can support anyone with a disability or mental health issue. They may need a little bit of help with something unexpected or to help plan for a change. It could be filling out a benefit application or assistance to look for a job.

Our Community Support Initiative is there for them.

Whatever support they need, we will do our best to help. We will work with an individual so that we can really understand their goals and provide long-term outcomes.

Open door - Support is designed to be for a set period of time but people can come to us as often as they need help. Some of the things that we can help with are:

  • Travel support
  • Getting involved in community activities/online activities
  • Volunteering/employment
  • Making friends
  • Setting up/sustaining groups
  • Benefits support/PIP applications
  • Health
  • Tenancy support

We are happy to speak to somebody who could benefit from this service or knows somebody who could. If we cannot help, we will be able to point you in the direction of a local organisation who can.

Flintshire Networks

Currently we have 38 Members accessing support across the county of Flintshire. Members who are being supported are required to have a tenancy related support need and we are funded by Supporting People.

We have 3 support workers who work across the county offering weekly support visits and we have a hub which is based in Deeside. Members meet on a Tuesday from 9.30 am to 12 noon in Libby’s Café, CAB building, Connah’s Quay.

Referrals go to the single pathway and these can be from social workers, housing officers, self-referrals etc.
