We work closely with the Participation and Engagement team at North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) to deliver this service by supporting people with a learning disability and or autistic people to be included and engage with the North Yorkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board and associated groups.
Working across North Yorkshire, we facilitate a number of self-advocacy groups where we encourage people to talk about local/national issues and campaigns, co-produce work, for example, working with NYCC to deliver their learning disability strategy and take part in local/national consultations.
Self-advocates can elect to join other groups which interest them and are linked to the Learning Disability Partnership Board. They also have the opportunity to attend conferences and workshops both locally and nationally with support from the KeyRing team.
KeyRing self-advocacy groups are usually run on a monthly basis for either one or two hours and these are held at a venue central to the local community where people live. We currently facilitate groups in Northallerton, Easingwold, Scorton, Skipton, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Selby, Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale but we welcome the opportunity to run groups in other areas if these are needed.

One of our projects with the North Yorkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board has been to produce a guide to saving money on energy. The 'Top Tips for Saving Money on your Energy' booklet contains advice on how people can save money on their energy bills.
