Southwark Disability Hub - Coming soon
We are designing our brand-new disability hub alongside the people of Southwark. Here is a sneak peek at some of the things that will be part of the offer from June 2025. If you want to keep in touch, pop your contact details here and we will share up to date information.
We will be working with local people and partners every step of the way to develop the hub offer. It combines advice and opportunities for people in Southwark and is aimed at people who have a disability.
Information, Advice and Guidance
The hub will offer support and guidance to people in Southwark. We won’t just do this on our own though. We will keep building our contacts so that we can find the right people or service to help you.
You’ll be able to contact us through
- Meet ups in your local area
- Appointments by phone, online and face to face
If you are a provider feel free to get in touch to tell us more about your local offer. We'd love to work with you.
You’ll have accessible options to make sure that the advice is given in a way that is right for you.
Targeted Short Breaks
The Southwark Disability hub will also support you to access short breaks. Short breaks give the young person (5-19) an opportunity to get involved in opportunities and give the parent or carer a valuable break from their caring role. Short breaks can range from a few hours to overnight breaks and can take place inside the home or away from it.
Community Engagement
You'll be invited to a variety of sessions and activities aimed at helping people’s health and wellbeing. There will be opportunities to connect with other people and share and learn new skills. This is all designed to improve people’s wellbeing, reduce isolation and promote independence.
We'd love to design these sessions and activities alongside local people and we'll be asking people what they want and need. We’ll also ask other local services how they’d like to be involved. We are always open to hear from residents and providers so that we can offer sessions that just make sense.
Some of our sessions will provide a direct link between disabled people and their carers and the local authority. This might be called a disability forum or network and it’s aim will be to ensure that the people’s voices are heard clearly and used to help address issues and improve services.
Part of our community work will be to provide information on other community activities and relevant services in a format that is accessible to you.
And finally... KeyRing Networks
We are excited to expand and build on our local network offer in Southwark. This support is designed to help Southwark people to live independently. It is open to anyone that is referred through All Age Disability & Learning Disability service. Read more about KeyRing Networks in Southwark
