Our networks and floating support focus on people’s strengths, so that their lives are more stable and they are less isolated.

Why it matters for you and your caseload

Prevention and stepdown: Our support is consistent but flexible, so it’s designed around each person and their needs. This means we can deal with problems before they get worse. We can also work with people to reduce their support over time.

Strengths based practice: We build on people’s skills and what there is in their local neighbourhood. People also support each other by sharing skills and doing things together.
Safeguarding and risk: We have Positive Risk Taking and Person Centred Support approaches, helping people to stay safe without over-supporting them. Our staff have thorough training in safeguarding procedures so they always know what to do when a risky situation arises.
Reduction in your time and workload: KeyRing support is flexible to the person and their situation so we can adapt our support accordingly. This means less need for them or us to connect with you.
Joint working: We attend multi agency meetings, contribute to risk management plans, and share updates to support Care Act reviews.

How referrals work

Simple, responsive process: You can connect with us directly via agreed local pathways (including frameworks and call offs). We assess referrals and prioritise them by need.
Eligibility: This can vary depending on the service. Usually it is for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or a combination. People can also get support from us if they are at risk of losing their home or if they are feeling isolated. You can see who we support in your area here.

What social workers can expect

Flexible support: Our support can range from a short-term service for 4-6 weeks, ongoing support, and extra support if somebody needs it.
Clear communication: You will always know who you can contact. We provide clear and transparent updates regularly.
Working together: We work well with other agencies like housing, health, safeguarding teams and other organisations.

What we do

KeyRing delivers flexible, community based support for adults - particularly people with learning disabilities and/or who are neurodivergent, as well as people with mental health needs - to live well and independently in their own homes and neighbourhoods.

Our networks, floating support and short term targeted interventions combine skilled staff with peer and community assets to improve outcomes and reduce pressure on statutory services.

How it works

Local Networks and Floating Support: Blended model of scheduled and responsive support focused on tenancy sustainment, daily living skills, community connection, physical/mental wellbeing, and safeguarding. Services are configured to the local specification (block, framework call off, or individual placements) and align with Care Act duties and personalisation (ISFs/Direct Payments).
Short term enablement: Time limited “help when you need it” interventions to stabilise need, connect people to community resources, and step down statutory input—used by councils via mini competition/call off under established frameworks.
Peer and community leverage: We design each area’s approach to build mutual support, volunteering and community links around Members (the people we support), amplifying impact without escalating cost.
