Your Support
Who will support me?
You will get support from a KeyRing worker. There may also be KeyRing volunteers involved in your support.
You will meet other people that we support and you might even make some new friends. You’ll be encouraged to look out for each other and help each other out.
And there are lots of things going on in your local area and online that you can connect with and get support from.
Planning and your goals

When you join KeyRing you will talk about your goals and what you would like support with. Together with your KeyRing worker you will make a plan.
We use different tools to help you plan your support. It’s important that we find the right approach for you. All of our planning starts with what you are good at and love doing. This will help you make decisions about what you want to do. This is called strengths-based planning.
Whatever tool you use, it is your plan. You can see it and make changes at any time. You can share it with anyone you choose. You will review your plan with your support worker at least once every year.
Hubs
Some KeyRing areas have regular meetups with other KeyRing Members. These are usually called KeyRing Hubs. They meet regularly, in a place that is easy for everyone to get to.
At a Hub you can:
- Meet other Members
- Speak with staff and volunteers
- Make plans
- You can speak to your support worker for
more information about any local KeyRing Hubs.
Contact
Your support worker will share information about when they are available. They will tell you how best to contact them and share any other local numbers that could be useful.
Out of hours
If you need to speak with someone when your support worker is not available you can use our 24 hour support line. You can call them on 0333 00 00 321 or text on 07506 628 693.
Ending or reducing your support
KeyRing ending or reducing your support
Sometimes we may change or stop your support. This is usually as part of a planned move to independence and you will discuss this with your support worker.
Very occasionally we may need to stop your support because of something you have done or said. This is so that we can keep you, other Members and our staff safe. It also helps us to make sure that KeyRing is a welcoming organisation to work for and be supported by.
You can find out more in the treating others with respect policy.
You ending or reducing your support
You can decide to stop or reduce your KeyRing support. Please let us know as soon as possible if you'd like to stop your KeyRing support. We will talk to you about what is involved in this and give you some advice for your next steps. You can talk about your decision with anyone at KeyRing but it is usually best to tell your support worker first.
